This course is to introduce Defensive Shooting to armed church security teams, in the context of legal use of force, the psychological and physiological ramifications of using deadly force, and a solid foundation in the fundamentals of shooting to achieve rapid and repeatable accuracy under stress.
This training is NOT all one needs to form and be a member of a team providing security for their house of worship. However, is an important and foundational aspect for those teams who have chosen to be legally armed.
Half of the day will be spent in a classroom going over the situational awareness, Use of Force, firing cycle, assembly/disassembly, and dry fire fundamentals.
Second half of the day will be on the firing range going through a progression of live fire drills designed to gain a base level of proficiency, a plan to make progress with your skills, and comfort and confidence with your chosen pistol or revolver.
