Host a Course
By conducting a course in your geographic area, you can defer a significant portion of the training course to your agency, as well as other agencies, by eliminating travel expenses, per diem, etc.
The minimum number of students needed to conduct a course is five (5) paid tuitions and the maximum is ten (10).
Many of these courses qualify for MPOETC CLEE (Continuing Education for Law Enforcement), and can be used as Continuing Education credits for NRA Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors.
There are two types of courses that can be hosted:
Hosted and Open to Other Agencies
The host agency provides the training location/live fire range (if applicable) and is open for other officers or military personnel to register on the PDFT website. Five (5) paid registrations results in one (1) free seat for host agency personnel. Ten (10) paid results in two (2) seats for host agency personnel. Participants provide all required equipment.
Closed Course
These classes are intended for host agency personnel and all tuitions are paid for by host agency. A Closed Course can be customized to meet a specified training need for the agency. Host provides the training location/live fire range and required equipment for personnel.
