LE Advanced Carbine (2 Day Class)

This two-day class is designed to increase an officer’s efficiency, speed, and accuracy with their duty carbine with a goal of eliminating bad habits that cost time and installing correct technique.

This carbine course is designed to increase the skill level of the experienced shooter. The course will consist of approximately 1 hour instruction on firearm safety, the safe and correct way to handle and operate your carbine on and off the range, and a quick recap on the Fundamentals of rifle marksmanship. The initial instruction will be followed by 12 hours of challenging drills that involve a variety of shooting positions, distances, and target types. Drills will be performed from multiple positions, from standing to different types of groundwork, and incorporate movement. These drills are designed to improve accuracy and speed. Upon completion of this course the student will have a thorough understanding of firearm safety, firearm operation, and the ability to engage multiple targets both static and on the move.

Classes have limited enrollment to ensure maximum one-on-one interaction and coaching.

Ammo requirements Student Furnished):
  • 1500 rounds of rifle ammunition per person
Prequisite (one of the following):
  • Active Law Enforcement member or equivalent (must be able to prove)
Individual equipment (Student Furnished):
  • Belt with magazine pouches or vest (kit)
  • Carbine with a minimum of 4 magazines/optical sight (optional, but recommended)
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Food and water (1 hour lunch break)
  • Hat
  • Rain gear
  • Sun screen
  • Weapon cleaning kit (with oil)

Course includes: 14 hours of instruction and a PDFT certificate of completion.

Course Objective: The student will achieve a high level of confidence in the safe handling and operation of their carbine with a substantial improvement in accuracy and speed of target engagement.

Training Schedule: Show time is 8:30 am with instruction starting at 9:00 am and ending at 4 pm. A one-hour period is allotted for lunch.
